So Jordan has been sick for days now. He will be really sick and then start to get better only to relaps. I hope that he will beat this illness before the end of the week so that it does not ruin his Easter. Jared is doing ok. He seems to be a little sick but not to the degree that Jordan is. He is really practicing is standing now. He is constantly trying to pull himself up onto furniture and succeeds about 40% of the time. I am trying desperately to not get sick because I have way to much to do to be sick.
I booked our hotel for the cake show on May 1st and 2nd. Xanhnha and I are so excited! I have come up with a sea life cake design and I may recreate that caterpillar cake from Jordan's birthday too. I can enter 4 categories of my division. the caterpillar cake could be for either the special occasion non tiered or the special techniques category. The sea life cake will be in the special occasion tiers category. I am not planning on winning anything but public opinion is that if you are going to a show you should bring a cake because apparently the judges give really useful feedback. Mostly I am just so excited to get a close up look at the amazing wedding cake comp. and the specialty cakes. Xanhnha is just excited to get out of town for a few days. He is going to hang out with the kids while I'm at the show. Mom is planning on coming out for Sunday so she can see the cakes too. It will be a fun weekend!

Sick babies
Yesterday Jordan came down with some sort of stomach bug which kept him up all night and Jared, while showing no outward signs of illness was also up all night with his brother. At one point I had both of them in bed with me but that caused them to have the giggles so I sent them back to their owns beds. Needless to say it was a sleepless night for me and Xanhnha was out all night so luckily for him he missed all the action. Strangely even without any sleep they both decided that 6:30 was a good time to get up this morning. I can't wait for nap time!
Yesterday I got my cake dummies!!! They are Styrofoam rounds shaped like cakes. I got a set that makes up a 5 tiered cake so I can make any size I want. The purpose is that I can now practice decorating without actually baking a cake. I tried icing one last night but it was harder then I thought. The Styrofoam is so light that any pressure on it will push the cake around. I think I will have to glue the cake to a board with royal icing before icing them in the future.

Beautiful Days
The warm weather has brought my husband out of hibernation! The winters are so rough around here because Xanhnha doesn't want to move and Jordan is couped up in the house all day, so with the return of the warm weather life has definitely improved. Yesterday Xanhnha fixed our shed which was completely destroyed in a bad wind storm we had last week. It is not totally fixed yet but at least the walls are back up. He still has to secure the bottom so that it will not blow over again in another wind storm. Jordan went out with him and had a wonderful time playing with his tricycle that he got for his birthday and his wagon. Then Xanhnha offered to take us out to lunch so we went to the Chinese buffet which is always a special treat for Jordan. He is getting much better about eating in public. He is still loud but at least he doesn't cry or try to run around the restaurant. Today Jordan has a play date with his friend Ethan so he will have a friend to play outside with. Life is so much easier in the spring!

Welcome to the Luu family Blog!
Hello! So many people have their own blog so I decided to get with the program and start one for our family too. Let me introduce my family. I'm Emily and my husband is Xanhnha ( pronounced Sinya). We have two wonderful sons Jordan who is 3 and Jared who is 9 months. We are living with my parents while Xanhnha is finishing up an accounting degree and I am home with the kiddies.
Xanhnha's Bio: Xanhnha was born in Vietnam but he is Cambodian. His family moved to Philadelphia when he was 5. He served a mission in California(Vietnamese speaking) and was a mortgage broker until the crash at which point he decided it was time for a career change and went back to school. He is expected to finish school this year which is very exciting to all of us!
Emily's Bio: I was born and raised in southern NJ to a wonderful family. I got a degree in Psychology from Rutgers. I worked as a social worker before I had Jordan and now I am a stay at home mom. I love being with my children and watching them grow and change.
Jordan's Bio: Jordan is our VERY energetic 3 year old. He is all boy, gravitating to anything that is ball shaped :) He is extremely intelligent and it is so much fun to hear what comes out of his mouth next.
Jared's Bio: Jared is our 9 month old snuggle bunny. He is a rolly polly happy baby. I truly have never seen a happier baby in all my life. He is crawling is loving his new found freedom, exploring everything in sight.
Well I hope that you come back and check up on us often. I will try to be diligent in my updates and photos
